The capacity building component of ECMP is dedicated to improve the implementation of the programme through targeted capacity building supports for both the holders (the target community group) and the duty bearers (implementing agencies).
The programme aims to provide capacity building support in the form of training and grants to the BoWCA, Education, Health and Justice Bureau, and civil society organisations including women’s associations, youth associations, family guidance associations and Harmful Traditional Practices (HTPs) networks.
The programme has established a Regional Capacity Building Fund (RCBF) to provide grants for capacity building activities for ECMP partner agencies in the Amhara region. It is directly implemented by WCA at woreda and kebele levels while, the federal regional and zonal level WCA are expected to provide the required institutional and technical coordination supports.
Proposals were collected and reviewed by the RCBF Evaluation Committee and 22 winning organisations were selected and the funds have been transferred to all winners. Accordingly, ECMP avails capacity building funds to address the institutional, organisational and human resource related capacity gaps among the implementing partners at all levels.
